Lived Experience

Living, studying, and building a life in a different country can be both meaningful and incredibly overwhelming. As someone who has personally experienced the challenges of adapting to new environments, navigating cultural differences, and managing the pressure that often comes with life transitions, I understand how isolating these experiences can sometimes feel.

Many people spend so much time trying to hold everything together that they slowly lose touch with their own emotional needs. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, relationship difficulties, loneliness, self-doubt, academic pressure, or uncertainty about where you belong, therapy can become a space where you no longer have to carry everything entirely on your own.

I work particularly well with international students, immigrants, and young adults who may feel emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected, or caught between different expectations, identities, and stages of life. I understand how difficult it can be to adjust to unfamiliar environments while also trying to maintain relationships, academic performance, and a sense of stability within yourself.

My style is warm, relational, collaborative, and deeply respectful of each person’s unique experiences. I believe healing often begins within a safe and genuine therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, emotionally supported, and accepted without judgment. Rather than focusing only on “fixing problems,” I aim to help clients better understand themselves, reconnect with their emotions, and build a more compassionate relationship with who they are.

I draw from approaches including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and humanistic approaches, depending on each client’s needs and goals. Together, we may explore emotional patterns, relationship dynamics, coping strategies, self-worth, and the experiences that may be keeping you feeling stuck or emotionally exhausted.

I believe healing does not mean becoming a completely different person. Sometimes, it begins with learning how to understand yourself more gently, reconnect with your inner strengths, and create a life that feels more authentic, meaningful, and emotionally sustainable.

I have completed a Master in Global Mental Health and Counselling Psychology from University of Toronto and am a Registered Psychotherapist(Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (#20809).
