Lived Experience

I immigrated to Canada from Taiwan at age 14, a transition that brought confusion, anxiety, and a deep sense of disorientation. In the midst of navigating a new language, culture, and educational system, I learned to cultivate resilience and braveness—qualities that continue to shape how I move through the world. These early experiences taught me what it means to feel alone in your struggles and also how transformative it can be to have someone truly listen and walk beside you. This understanding forms the heart of my therapeutic work today: with calm presence, careful attention, and a belief that healing doesn’t have to happen alone.

"Healing takes time, and asking for help is a courageous step." – Mariska Hargitay

As a therapist, I believe that healing begins with creating a space where you can explore your inner world, share your thoughts freely, and embrace the challenges that come with personal growth. My approach is rooted in empathy, respect, and a commitment to understanding your unique journey.

I practice from a person-centred perspective

This means that you are the expert on your life, and my role is to support and guide you in a way that is responsive to your individual needs. In addition to this foundation, I integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS) — a model that invites gentle curiosity toward the different “parts” of yourself, such as protective or wounded inner voices. IFS helps us access the compassionate core of who you are and work toward internal harmony, healing, and greater self-understanding.

Whether we are addressing anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, or deeper trauma, I collaborate with you to identify the most effective tools and approaches to support meaningful change. Having worked with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and lived experiences, I am committed to creating an inclusive, anti-oppressive environment where you feel safe, seen, and heard. Together, we can explore the factors influencing your life, working to strengthen your resilience and self-awareness.

I have completed a Master in Global Mental Health and Counselling Psychology from University of Toronto and am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (#18592).
