Lived Experience

Before I started studying art therapy, I studied Science and Business with a specialization in Biotechnology at the University of Waterloo and entered the field of project management upon graduating. During my undergrad and project management career, I noticed that I exhibited symptoms of anxiety, such as ruminating and intellectualizing my worries. The anxiety worsened to the point where it became difficult to manage day-to-day activities and maintain relationships, so I decided to try psychotherapy.

My overall experience with therapy was very transformative in that it helped me process difficult early childhood memories and realize that they do not define me. During this time, I also gravitated toward painting, drawing, and playing around with 3D materials as a way to explore my feelings and personal identity. From there, I realized that project management was no longer a fit for me. Instead, I wanted to combine my passion for art and healing as a future career an art psychotherapist so that I may help others through their trauma and make living feel easier.

I believe that therapy is a collaborative process of discovery.

Whether you are navigating significant life transitions, managing professional burnout, or seeking a deeper understanding of your internal world, I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where your voice—and your creativity—can take center stage.

My practice is rooted in Art Psychotherapy, a modality that recognizes that sometimes words alone are not enough. This will look like painting, drawing, or clay work to help you process complex emotions, uncover hidden patterns, and build resilience. You do not need to be an “artist” to benefit from this; the focus is not on the final product, but on the process of expression and the insights it reveals. With a background in project management, I bring a unique blend of organizational structure and creative intuition to my work. I understand the nuances of balancing demanding professional lives with personal growth, which is why I am oriented towards a person-centered and trauma-informed approach. Seeking support is a courageous first step. If you are interested in exploring how art therapy can support your journey, I invite you to reach out for a consultation. Together, we can determine the best path forward to foster your well-being and personal agency.

I am a postgraduate student at the Canadian International Institute of Art Therapy (CiiAT).
